Regional Supply Chain Manager: Elastomer PU America

Huntsman is seeking a Regional Supply Chain Manager supporting the America’s Elastomer Polyurethanes Division located in Ringwood (Illinois). This position will report to the Global Supply Chain Director/Manager – Elastomer, in the Global Supply Chain leadership team.
The role will have three to four direct reports.

Job Scope
Regional Supply Chain Manager leads and drives the entire supply chain activities/operations at the regional level while ensuring alignment between Sales/commercial, Manufacturing, Regional/Global Supply Chains teams, S&OP/Demand Management teams, and the wider PU supply chain team (related to Elastomer business) and shared service functions. This critical role sits within our supply chain Elastomer PU division and acts as a key interface between various business function teams, with a strong focus on Integrated Business Planning and execution.

In summary, as the Supply Chain Manager, you will:

• Lead and develop the Material Management departments across the region (TPU) and get alignment from PU/other regional manufacturing sites, ensuring efficient and reliable material availability.
• Ensure full compliance with safety regulations in all areas of warehousing, material handling, transportation, and cargo securing.
• Ensure full compliance with internal audit guidelines and SOX compliance.
• Collaborate closely with Site Management as an integral part of the local leadership teams.
• Align external customer demand with site capabilities, balancing business needs and operational constraints.
• Act as a key driver and supporter of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes and initiatives at the regional level. This involves regional or global TPU/PES/films site operations and coordination, along with fulfillment of PU materials from other sites against customer demand/orders.
• Oversee production planning and scheduling, ensuring smooth coordination and timely execution for the entire business portfolio, including external manufacturers.
• Manage and optimize regional inventory, ensuring alignment with corporate inventory targets and supply chain goals.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for various teams, e.g., Commercial, finance/performance, Customer Service, supply chain excellence, Supply Network Planning, external manufacturing and Quality, and other teams.
• Ensure high levels of warehouse performance, organization, and process efficiency.
• Coordinate planning and handling of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
• Provide seamless logistics support for production, ensuring timely material availability.
• Maintain direct communication and alignment with the Distribution and Transport teams to ensure delivery performance.
• Identify and implement opportunities for network and process optimization across the supply chain.
• Align, establish, and maintain a structured S&OE process, ensuring alignment between sales, operations, and finance, and leading the monthly regional S&OP meetings. Ensure short- and medium-term supply/demand expectations are aligned with commercial, marketing, supply chain, and business goals.
• Develop short- and medium-term supply fulfillment strategies across all product lines and regions, and align long-term strategies with the Global S&OP Manager.
• Work with other regional Supply Chain teams to align integrated business planning and execution.
• Guide and interact with the regional demand planning team for smooth business fulfillment.
• Guide and interact with the regional customer service team for adhering to OTIF and managing business revenue.

• Focus on improving the efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and responsiveness of the supply chain, including inventory management, inter-regional stock movements, stock allocation, and manufacturing decisions.

• Identify, track, and report on key metrics related to supply chain performance, such as inventory, value turnover, order fulfillment rates, forecast accuracy, capacity utilization, on-time delivery, RM availability, warehousing and transport utilization and cost, etc.
• Perform gap analysis between plans and outcomes; scenario modeling with risk mitigation strategies.

• Identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs and improve efficiency across all activities.

• Guide and mentor a team, fostering a collaborative, result-driven, accountable, and high-performing work environment.
• Lead change management.

• Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including sales, manufacturing, operations, finance, shared services, and senior management.

• Collaborate with other regions and divisions to review and optimize all KPIs and processes.
• Drive process standardization and best practices across sites.
• Support operational improvements in cost, working capital, and service levels.

• Identify and assess supply chain risks, develop mitigation strategies, and implement solutions to minimize disruptions.

• Identify opportunities to deploy digital tools to drive efficiency and use analytics to improve performance, ensuring tool adoption and compliance.

• Member of the Elastomer Global Supply Chain Leadership team.
• Member of the Site Management Leadership Team.
• Close collaboration with Global Senior Management, regional PU manufacturing and fulfillment teams, regional demand and S&OP management, Commercial teams, Business performance and finance teams, regional Site Managers, service functions, and Marketing.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field.
  • 10 to 15 years of management experience in Supply Chain Management, inventory planning, and team management.

Skills and knowledge

  • Proven experience in all aspects of supply chain, demand management, site operations, planning (production and supply, RM, etc.), S&OP, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collate, interpret, and present data from both quantitative and qualitative forms and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, particularly in coordinating and collaborating across Business, Production, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Excellent interpersonal, strong influencing, and negotiation skills; able to interact effectively with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to delegate effectively, foster collaboration, and mobilize collective team efforts toward shared goals.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Highly results-driven, with the ability to work and communicate effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong and inspiring leader who can operate with a high degree of autonomy, drive continuous improvement, and support the development of team members. The ideal candidate brings proven experience in supply chain management, excellent strategic thinking, and a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing with a regional/global footprint.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and data analytics tools (e.g., Excel, BI, Tableau, etc.).
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies, as well as project management experience.
  • Proven leadership abilities and experience in managing and developing diverse teams, including designing and structuring teams to meet strategic objectives and performance targets.
  • A higher degree, such as an MBA.
  • APICS/ASCM or similar certification.
  • Experience in the specialty chemicals industry can be beneficial, particularly in understanding the specific challenges and opportunities of the industry.
