Lead Civil Engineer, Land Infrastructure

Your role

As a Lead Civil Engineer in our Land Infrastructure team in Brisbane, you'll lead a multi-disciplinary team and provide civil engineering expertise on a diverse range of projects including energy, airport, subdivision, water programme, rail, highway and other private and public infrastructure. You’ll explore integrated solutions, offer thoughtful perspectives, and partner with clients to help them build a more sustainable world.  The work for this role would be in and around the greater Brisbane region, with trips further away by exception.

What you’ll be doing

  • Technical Leader – whilst the role can be tailored to your strengths, this role is for a Civil Engineer that can take a lead role on civil design infrastructure projects, maintaining involvement from the bid stage through to design and ultimate successful project delivery. 

  • Client facing – be supported into a client leader role where you will be encouraged to both grow your network and deliver innovative solutions to best fit a client’s needs.

  • Supporting Team – work with a dedicated team of civil engineers, designers and drafters and contribute to their learning and growth through coaching, mentoring and inclusive decision-making.

  • Collaborating across disciplines – work closely with a range of engineers across Aurecon to explore creative and efficient solutions to project needs. 

  • Personal growth – grow your technical skills and leadership abilities within the team with guidance from the large Aurecon support network.

What you’ll bring

You blend technical knowledge with empathy and big-picture thinking. You're someone who thrives in dynamic environments, builds meaningful connections, and is motivated by purposeful work. You’ll also have:

  • A relevant engineering degree, be RPEQ accredited (or CPEng and working towards RPEQ) and at least 7 years’ post-graduate experience in Civil Engineering

  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing capability

  • A strong ability to shape thoughtful, effective solutions in energy or infrastructure

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a wide range of people

  • A proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and bring forward new perspectives
