Job description

This opportunity are well suited to professionals who enjoy leading design packages from concept through to detailed design, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across offices, and acting as a key interface with clients and project stakeholders.

These roles will play an important part in strengthening our design leadership capability across the Brisbane region, supporting the delivery of complex transport projects and helping shape the future of infrastructure across South East Queensland.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Provide strategic leadership across major highways and transport infrastructure programs throughout South East Queensland.
  • Lead the design management and technical delivery of complex multidisciplinary projects from planning and concept development through to detailed design and construction support.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients including state government agencies, local government authorities and major infrastructure delivery partners.
  • Oversee project portfolios, ensuring technical excellence, commercial performance and successful client outcomes.
  • Drive business development activities, client engagement and strategic pursuits to strengthen AECOM's position in the Queensland highways market.
  • Build and maintain executive-level client relationships while identifying opportunities for long-term growth.
  • Mentor and develop Design Managers, Project Managers and technical specialists across the broader Highways team.
  • Collaborate with transportation leaders across Australia and New Zealand to deliver integrated solutions on some of the region's most complex infrastructure programs.
  • Champion innovation, digital delivery, quality and sustainability across project delivery.

The qualities that help you thrive

  • 20+ years' experience delivering major highways, roads or transport infrastructure projects.
  • Extensive experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on large-scale infrastructure programs.
  • Demonstrated success in senior leadership positions such as Technical Director, Design Director, Design Manager, Project Director or Discipline Leader.
  • Strong relationships across the Queensland transport market, including experience working with TMR, local government and major delivery partners.
  • Proven ability to secure, lead and successfully deliver major projects while balancing technical, commercial and client objectives.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing project performance, risk and profitability.
  • Track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Chartered Engineer status and relevant professional memberships highly regarded.
  • Passion for technical excellence, client service and shaping the future of transport infrastructure.
