APAC General Ledger Accountant
We are seeking a motivated professional to handle Asia Pacific controllership functions of the Company to be a part of our brilliant Finance Team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform general accounting and General Ledger (GL) functions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP and local regulations)
- Record, review, and maintain financial transactions across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cycles within the accounting system
- Review and approve vendor invoices and employee reimbursements ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper GL classification
- Coordinate and work with Treasury and Accounts Payable Team as needed.
- Lead and execute month-end closing activities, including but not limited to:
- Recording of accruals and amortization of prepaid expenses
- Processing of intercompany billings, settlements, and payment applications
- Maintenance of fixed asset registers, including accurate recording and depreciation
- Preparation and review of bank reconciliations
- Conduct of Profit and Loss analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations, including variance analysis
- Coordinate with external auditors, including the preparation and timely submission of audit requirements for assigned entities
- Support the preparation and filing of local statutory, tax, and regulatory reportorial requirements, ensuring compliance with local laws
- Ensure all invoices, receipts, and supporting documents are properly reviewed, validated, and compliant, with correct GL treatment prior to payment processing
- Maintain strong internal controls and contribute to process improvements within the GL and reporting functions
- Perform other accounting and operational duties as assigned by management
- Execute ad hoc tasks to support business and financial reporting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field, with 2-5 years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required
- Experience in using SAP (S/4HANA) or other ERP systems will be an advantage
- Solid exposure in General Ledger Functions, including bank reconciliation, month-end activities, P/L analytics and preparation of balance sheet schedules
- Background in the preparation of complete financial statements and/or involvement in audit engagements is considered an advantage
- Exhibits keen attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and a high level of diligence
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, with strong working knowledge of other MS Office applications
- Able to handle a work schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:30PM with flexibility to extend during month-end close as needed.
