Delivery Director
Salary
Job description
(i.e.,) are looking for a Delivery Director to join our team and lead delivery excellence across our digital product consultancy. This is a senior commercial leadership role for someone who moves as comfortably in a client commercial conversation as they do in the weeds of delivery..
Research indicates that certain demographic groups, such as women, may be less inclined to apply for a role unless they meet all the job requirements. If you're interested in this role, we strongly encourage you to apply, as you might be just what we're looking for.
About the opportunity
As a Director in our Delivery discipline, you'll own delivery and commercial health across complex, multi-workstream client engagements. This isn't a governance role. It's a role for someone who can hold the P&L tension, own resourcing across competing client needs, and build client relationships strong enough to carry honesty at any point in an engagement.
An equally important part of this role is building delivery capability across the business. Not just delivering well on your own engagements, but creating the frameworks, practices, and people that make (i.e.,) better at delivery over time.
You'll sit within a cross-functional team to support with:
- Owning commercial outcomes across your engagements; revenue, margin, and delivery efficiency, not just the visibility of them.
- Leading multi-stakeholder programs across complex client environments, including clients with their own internal politics and competing priorities.
- Making resourcing calls with commercial intent. Understanding the real cost of a resourcing mistake on a billable engagement, and acting accordingly.
- Reshaping scope or estimates mid-engagement when you need to and holding the commercial line without losing the client's trust.
- Partnering with our commercial and growth discipline on pursuits, shaping delivery approaches and estimates we can genuinely stand behind.
- Building delivery plans that are specific, realistic, and designed to flex, not fall apart, when things change.
- Contributing something durable to how (i.e.,) delivers: a framework, a way of approaching a problem, a person you've grown.
What you’ll bring
We're looking for someone who has done the hard work of delivering in complex environments, made the difficult calls, and knows the difference between managing a resource plan in a spreadsheet and actually owning the outcome.
More specifically, you'll bring:
- A strong track record in enterprise or consulting delivery across digital product, technology transformation, or engineering domains.
- Experience leading multi-workstream programs across cross-functional teams that include engineers, designers, product managers, and functional consultants.
- Comfort working across different technology environments; whether that's custom digital product builds, AI-powered solutions, or complex web and mobile platforms.
- Genuine experience with fixed-price and time-and-materials commercial models and the delivery discipline each requires.
- The confidence to have hard conversations with clients early, and the relationship skills to make them land well.
- A track record of growing delivery capability in others. The best delivery directors create more delivery directors. The ones who don't often become bottlenecks.
What success looks like
At six months: You're across your engagements and your clients trust you. Delivery is running with visibility and without surprises. Issues are being surfaced and managed before they escalate. You understand the resourcing picture across your programs and you're making calls, not just flagging tensions. Internally, you've built enough credibility with the disciplines you rely on that people want to work with you. You've had at least one hard conversation with a client and it landed well.
At twelve months: The engagements you own are commercially healthy. Clients are coming back, expanding scope, or actively referring work because of the relationship you've built. You've contributed something durable to how (i.e.,) delivers; a framework, a way of approaching a problem, a person you've grown. Resourcing decisions across your accounts are being made with commercial intent, not just good intent. You're not just delivering well, you're making the discipline better.
