Practice DetailsMarshfield Medical Center is seeking a Otolaryngologist Hospitalist at our flagship location in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Join our busy, well-established, full-service otolaryngology department including fellowship-trained surgeons. We are proud to have the longest continuous running ENT program in Wisconsin!
- Features a 7 day on/7 day off schedule rotation - 182 annual 24-hour shifts
- 10 hours of onsite work, with 14 hours of call from home with 1 OR day per week
- Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider coverage 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Comprehensive array of cases, full-scope ENT practice
- Advanced training or experience in Laryngology or Otology a plus!
- Well-established referral base from across the Marshfield Clinic region of Sanford Health

- Call coverage is 1:4 with PA Support
- Fully remodeled clinic space with state-of-the-art equipment
- 2 dedicated procedure rooms
- Audiology Department adjacent to ENT Department
- Speech Pathology onsite performs swallowing studies
- Vestibular Lab for dizziness testing
- Collaboration with Plastic Surgery, Pathology, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology as well as over 170 other specialties and sub-specialties to support patient care

Job DescriptionOtolaryngology Core Privileges include the ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to setting), evaluate, diagnose, and provide consultation on comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients of all ages presenting with diseases, deformities, or disorders of the head and neck that affects the ears, nose, throat, respiratory and upper alimentary systems, and related structures of the head and neck. Head and neck oncology and facial plastic reconstructive surgery and the treatment of disorders of hearing and voice are included in core privileges.

QualificationsM.D. or D.O. degree.
Experience can be demonstrated in one of the following ways and should be reflective of the privileges being requested: An applicant who has just completed a residency provides his/her residency log. OR An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from the hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the past 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months. OR If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 otolaryngology procedures in the last 12 months.
More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
Successful completion of a hospital affiliated residency Otolaryngology accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than the above, may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process as defined in the Credentialing Policy.
Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable. Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement. (Refer to each entity’s policy for grandfather exceptions)
Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
