About the Position

  • Nursing Assistant
  • Part-time .6-.75 FTE (48-60 hours per pay period)
  • 12-hour shifts, Days, Evenings, Every 3rd Weekend
  • Medical/Surgical/Pediatrics
  • INTERNAL POSTING THROUGH: 6/23/26

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant serves the hospital patient population by assisting to provide direct patient care which meets the assigned unit needs through regular rounding. The House Supervisor/Nurse Director may re-assign to other units based on changes of volumes and acuity.

Here's what you'll do when you join us

  • Demonstrates a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients, families, visitors, coworkers and other departmental representatives.
  • Demonstrates a positive, welcoming and helpful attitude towards all individuals who enter or contact the department.
  • Answers patients’ call lights promptly and communicates/completes needed patient intervention.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent information to ensure patient, visitor and employee rights are protected.
  • Handles all organizational information in a manner that ensures strict confidentiality is maintained at all times.
  • Assists in the delivery of patient care as directed to include: transfers, ambulation, feeding, dressing, bathing, weighing, and toileting.
  • Transports or assists with the transporting of patients.
  • Promptly delivers specimens and supplies within the hospital.
  • Reports significant events and actions promptly to the RN.
  • Applies monitors and reports to the RN the effectiveness of any safety device and/or mobility alarm.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with hospital safety, disaster and emergency procedures.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment as needed and assists in keeping unit clean and organized.
  • Attends required in-services and staff meetings.
  • Understands and adheres to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Care is delivered with adherence to the policies and procedures of Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital.
  • Performs and demonstrates competency for all CNA responsibilities for patient care.
  • Perform other related dutes as required. This is not all-inclusive and any other task or job may be assigned in the future.

If you have these qualifications, we'd love to chat

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Graduate of a Nursing Aide program. Certification and current listing on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry preferred.
  • BLS Certification or ability to obtain within two months of hire and maintains certification.
  • Experience in an ambulatory or inpatient health care setting with ability to multi-task and manage multiple patient/family/nursing/physician priorities within short time frames preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to and follow Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital Mission, Values, Vision and policies.
  • Maintains reliable and consistent attendance.
