Job description

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting commercial risk. As a SVP (Broker) you will report directly to the US Practice Leader for Structured Credit & Political Risk. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work from our New York, Chicago, Washington DC, Houston or the San Francisco office. Aon is in the business of better decisions At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed. What the day will look like The SVP is responsible for the management of a sophisticated portfolio of Structured Credit and Political Risk accounts, including placement and service, and for ensuring all client deliverables are met. This individual is also accountable for representing the practice on new business and expansion opportunities, and for leading by example as a strong sponsor of Aon’s Leadership Model—supporting colleagues, promoting connectivity and collaboration across offices and functions, and fostering the sharing of knowledge, best practices and resources. Build and maintain a coordinated Structured Credit & Political Risk broking platform that delivers value for clients, colleagues, and key insurance markets. Support and execute a clear growth plan in line with U.S. priorities and target segments. Develop and manage insurance carrier relationships specific to SC/PRI, including an understanding of market appetite, pricing, and wordings. Lead bespoke broking on complex placements and participate in large account reviews and client strategy meetings. Support team excellence by coaching colleagues on product knowledge, execution, file quality, and client communication. Take ownership of key financial and operational metrics (revenue, pipeline, file completeness, workplan adherence, audit readiness). Communicate effectively with team members and all internal and external constituents. Travel to clients, colleagues, and insurers across the U.S. (and occasionally internationally) for meetings, negotiations, and reviews. How this opportunity is different This is a critical role at the center of Aon’s U.S. Structured Credit & Political Risk practice. You will manage a portfolio of critical clients and help shape how we originate, structure, and execute our business and set operational standards. You will work alongside a highly skilled, collaborative team to grow a market‑leading practice that is tightly connected to Aon’s broader Property & Casualty and sector businesses. Skills and experience that will lead to success Minimum 7 years working with Credit and/or Political Risk placements. Demonstrable record of being a ‘Highly Engaged Leader' at Aon or similar organization. Growth-oriented and collaborative contributor. Proven operational discipline: able to run complex placements and renewals end to end with clean, audit ready files. Solid Carrier Relations in the Trade Credit, Structured Credit and Political Risk Market. Comfort learning and using new systems and applications. Ability to understand, analyze and apply data and analytics. Promote innovation in broking strategies. Experience handling difficult client conversations. Current insurance license or ability to quickly acquire insurance producer's license in all applicable states. Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent years of proven experience. Pay Transparency Laws The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $195,000-$235,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan. A summary of all the benefits offered for that position: Aon offers a comprehensive package of benefits for full-time and regular part-time colleagues, including, but not limited to: a 401(k) savings plan with employer contributions; an employee stock purchase plan; consideration for long-term incentive awards at Aon’s discretion; medical, dental and vision insurance, various types of leaves of absence, paid time off, including 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 15 days of paid vacation per year, paid sick leave as provided under state and local paid sick leave laws, short-term disability and optional long-term disability, health savings account, health care and dependent care reimbursement accounts, employee and dependent life insurance and supplemental life and AD&D insurance; optional personal insurance policies, adoption assistance, tuition assistance, commuter benefits, and an employee assistance program that includes free counseling sessions. Eligibility for benefits is governed by the applicable plan documents and policies. For positions in San Francisco and Los Angeles, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction record in accordance with local Fair Chance ordinances.
