Practice Area

BCG Platinion launched in Germany in 2000 to add deep technical expertise to the Boston Consulting Group’s existing capabilities. Today, our presence spans across the globe, with offices in Asia, Europe, and South and North America. Our New York-based North American team began in 2014 and in 2017 acquired MAYA Design, a Pittsburgh-based digital design and innovation lab, to grow our capabilities around technology and design.

We support our clients’ total digital transformation through technology, design, cybersecurity, and risk management & financial engineering capabilities. And together with BCG, BCG Platinion’s interdisciplinary team of technical experts enable customized technical solutions and accelerate delivery value through new business platforms, application consolidations, and major system implementations.

What You'll Do

As an IT Consultant, you will work in an international and fast-paced environment alongside client leadership teams and BCG case teams to shape technology-driven transformation agendas and deliver impactful business outcomes.

You will contribute to the design and implementation of customized IT strategies, digital platforms, and enterprise architectures leveraging modern technologies such as cloud computing, AI, microservices, blockchain, and containerization. You will support key project workstreams, contribute to complex technology initiatives, and help clients adopt Agile methodologies and modern engineering practices.

You will work across a broad range of technology topics, applying your technical and analytical expertise to solve strategic technology challenges. In parallel, you will benefit from a comprehensive training and mentoring ecosystem designed to accelerate both your consulting and technical development.

Beyond project delivery, you will contribute to proposal development, client relationship management, knowledge sharing, and practice-building initiatives, while helping strengthen BCG Platinion’s position as a leader in technology and digital transformation consulting.

The Expert Consulting Track (ECT) is vital to BCG’s ability to successfully meet our clients’ demand for deep expertise and advanced technical capabilities. Experts deliver next-level impact for BCG's most complex and cutting-edge client challenges. Experts focus on developing BCG's thought leadership, commercial capabilities, and intellectual property assets; and their work is essential to our delivery model. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to bring the ‘best of BCG’ to our clients, Experts come from diverse backgrounds, with expertise often gained outside of BCG in industry, academia, or specialized consulting.

What You'll Bring

• 2 to 4 years of experience in IT strategy, technology consulting, software engineering, or IT project management within transformation-driven environments.
• Previous experience in IT consulting or technology transformation projects is highly desirable, ideally with exposure to client-facing engagements.
• Strong technical foundation in Data and Cloud technologies, combined with experience in one or more of the following areas:
• IT Modernization, Solution & Enterprise Architecture
• CRM, Digital & Customer Platforms
• ERP (SAP) & Enterprise Systems
• Banking & Insurance Platforms
• DevOps, Agile Delivery & Modern Engineering Practices
• AI/ML, Data Platforms & Emerging Technologies
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to structure complex challenges and deliver pragmatic solutions.
• Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Exposure to modern technology ecosystems, including cloud-native architectures, Agile methodologies, and digital transformation programs.
• Understanding of IT operating models, technology delivery frameworks, and organizational transformation topics.
• Ability to contribute to workshops, collaborate effectively within diverse teams, and engage confidently with client stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to connect technology initiatives to business objectives and operational impact.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and international environments, with flexibility to travel based on project needs.
• Professional fluency in French and English.
• Engineering degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
