Brooks Instrument ( www.brooksinstrument.com ), an industry leader in flow and pressure instrumentation for critical applications, is seeking candidates for an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician positions that will be based at the company headquarters in Hatfield, Pennsylvania (suburban Philadelphia). Basic Function
Work with the Systems Automation Group to fabricate electro-mechanical equipment for test and calibration in worldwide operations. Support manufacturing technical issues as deemed necessary by the group supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•
Fabricate and document electronic control assemblies and test fixtures.
•
Decipher electronic and mechanical schematics and flow diagrams for legacy equipment.
•
Support production equipment by troubleshooting and validating correct operation.
•
Assemble gas panels, manifolds, flow delivery systems, and test bench hardware.
•
Work on assignments may be quite broad in nature, requiring substantial originality and ingenuity.
•
Work with vendors to procure components, including searching catalogs, requesting quotes, and completing purchase requisitions.
•
Regularly take on multiple concurrent assignments and multidisciplinary tasks.
•
Regular attendance in person required.
•
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•
Excellent mechanical aptitude to utilize various mechanical and laboratory equipment with experience troubleshooting equipment and mechanical assembly tools.
•
Handle and install high-purity semiconductor valves, tubing, and fittings.
•
Experience connecting PC systems, DAQ hardware, communication ports, and instrumentation preferred.
•
Ability to put together mechanical assemblies is required, ability to solder and wire is a plus.
•
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Tools. CAD experience is a plus.
•
Ability to get along with others in a team environment and to follow all safety procedures.
Education and Experience
•
Minimum 2 years experience in a related field.
•
Technical Associates degree required.
Physical Demands
Individual must be physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. On occasion may need to kneel, crawl and work in cramped areas. Occasional travel may be required with flight times greater than 14 hours.
