What you will be doing
We are looking for a capable, experienced and contemporary leader who can balance operational excellence with people leadership and stakeholder engagement. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, making sound decisions, and leading teams that deliver visible and valued services to the community.
- Extensive leadership experience in operational, field-based community safety or community policing environments
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and policy frameworks
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams, develop capability and foster trust, collaboration and high performance
- Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience delivering contemporary, intelligence-driven operational responses and service improvements
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment

- You will lead the day-to-day operations of Community Safety, including Ranger and Community Patrol Services, ensuring responsive and high-quality service delivery
- Provide strong leadership, coaching and direction to leaders and team members, building capability, accountability and a positive team culture
- Drive an intelligence-led and proactive operating model that responds to community safety risks, emerging issues and customer needs
- Build productive internal and external partnerships with agencies, stakeholders and community representatives to strengthen community safety outcomes
- Lead the delivery of a precinct type model in activity centres, entertainment precincts, and other high-risk public places, where community safety is a high priority to be addressed.
- Ensure operations are delivered in line with relevant legislation, risk management requirements, City policies and safe work practices
Post Graduate qualifications in business or leadership management, or substantive equivalent work experience and tertiary qualifications is essential.
