Steel Fabrication CNC Equipment Operator

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL Compensation: Starting at $24.00 per hour (higher pay available based on experience) Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire Position Overview We are seeking an experienced CNC Equipment Operator to support steel fabrication and processing operations. This role is responsible for operating specialized CNC machinery, ensuring material accuracy, maintaining production quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient work environment. Candidates should have hands-on experience operating CNC plasma cutting equipment or similar automated sawing, drilling, and material-processing machinery. Experience with overhead crane operation and material handling is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities • Set up and operate CNC fabrication machinery based on work orders

• Adjust machine settings to optimize accuracy and production efficiency

• Review material specifications and measurements prior to processing

• Select proper materials using drawings and job requirements

• Mark and track materials throughout the production processInspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met

• Maintain basic production records and material logs

• Perform routine equipment checks and assist with minor troubleshootingFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

• Move materials using manual handling and lifting equipment

Qualifications • Experience operating CNC fabrication equipment (plasma, saw, drill, or similar)

• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings preferredAble to read a tape measure accurately (to 1/16 inch)

• Basic math and measurement skills

• Experience with overhead cranes or material handling equipment

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly

• Comfortable standing for extended periods

• Willingness to work in indoor industrial conditions (varied temperatures)

• Experience with fabrication software (e.g., Tekla PowerFab) is a plus

Equipment Experience (Preferred) Experience with one or more of the following is highly valued:

• CNC plasma cutting machines
• Automated saw and drill systems
• Angle or beam processing equipment
• Structural steel CNC production lines
