In both established and emerging businesses, our professionals are integral, trusted advisers and advocates, giving our clients insights into legal and business considerations that guide prudent decision-making. ABOUT THE POSITION

The Senior Commercial Litigation Paralegal at Jimerson Birr operates at the intersection of business strategy and courtroom advocacy and has earned the autonomy to prove it. This is not a conventional paralegal role, and this is not a conventional seat within it.

Our clients are small to mid-sized businesses, operating companies, financial institutions, real estate developers, healthcare entities, and executives who face high-stakes disputes that threaten their operations, assets, and reputations. The matters you will support span commercial litigation, business torts, breach of contract, trade secret and non-compete enforcement, fiduciary disputes, real estate litigation, employment disputes, and creditor's rights, among others. The complexity is real, the timelines are demanding, and the outcomes matter deeply to the people and organizations we serve.

You are a self-sufficient litigation professional; someone who no longer needs to be told what to do next and who has the track record to prove it.

You manage complex matters from intake through verdict or resolution with minimal oversight, serve as a trusted point of contact for clients and attorneys alike, and actively shape the systems that make your team better.

You bring ingenuity to your work, finding new paths through complex terrain and delivering solutions that reflect both analytical clarity and creative problem-solving.

You are a calm, composed presence amid competing demands, capable of navigating multiple stressors without losing focus or quality.

At the senior level, execution alone is not the ceiling. You mentor the paralegals around you, contribute to the refinement of litigation matter plans and workflows, and serve as a process leader within the paralegal corps. Your expertise isn't just applied, it's transferred.

You are on a documented path, and at JB, the Lead Paralegal role is the next rung; a formalized, term-based leadership appointment for those who demonstrate sustained excellence in production, mentorship, and process improvement.

In this role, you manage all assigned attorney support functions from intake through verdict or resolution.

You own the integrity of your casework, the reliability of your deadlines, and the readiness of your attorneys, while simultaneously elevating the paralegals who work alongside you.
