We’ve just reached unicorn status with a $150M Series D, accelerating our vision to transform education through human-led, AI-enhanced learning. As a category-defining company, we’re shaping what the future of learning looks like at global scale.
Every Preply lesson sparks change, fuels ambition, and drives progress that matters. Joining Preply means helping define the future of education at global scale, and building something that truly matters for millions of people, every day.
MEET THE TEAM!
Preply has the largest and most diverse tutor communities in online learning. Our tutors play a crucial role in our vision to power people's progress. We are constantly pushing the boundaries, conducting hundreds of AB tests, and identifying opportunities to enhance the experience for both our students and tutors.
As a member of the Supply Operations squad, you'll lead the Supply Growth team, which is responsible for how tutors find Preply, succeed in their first weeks, build strong profiles, and grow their presence on the platform. In this role, you will define and drive the strategy for tutor acquisition, early success, content quality, and tutor self-promotion - and own the outcomes end-to-end.
You'll manage a team of senior specialists across early success programs and content strategy. Working closely with Product, CRM, Data, Brand and CX, you'll build and execute scalable growth programs that grow tutor supply, improve tutor profiles quality, and strengthen the marketplace. This is a role for someone who generates direction - not just follows it.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Team Leadership & Strategy
- Lead and grow the Supply Growth team across tutor acquisition, growth, and profile quality - adapting to what each person needs and keeping the team focused on the highest-impact work
- Define the long-term vision and roadmap for how Preply grows, onboards, and empowers its tutor base - translating it into clear priorities, measurable goals, and focused execution
- Evaluate current programs, channels, and workflows and propose scalable improvements based on data and stakeholder input
Tutor Acquisition
- Define the multi-channel strategy that will allow Preply to acquire and engage Tutors to join our platform
- Drive acquisition for undersupplied segments (languages, non-language subjects, geographies)
- Monitor marketplace liquidity and size opportunities - track whether tutor supply meets learner demand across segments and use those signals to set targets and build the business case for acquisition investments
Early Tutor Growth
- Own the registration-to-activation funnel - optimizing approval, onboarding, and the path to first bookings and early retention
- Lead scalable programs that help new tutors succeed faster - including incubation, mentorship, and first trial experience improvements, in collaboration with Product, CRM and CX teams
Tutor Content & Profile Quality
- Own the strategy for what appears on tutor profiles - how content is captured, displayed, verified, and improved - and drive tutor adoption so improvements translate into real behavior change across the platform
- Work with Product teams to raise the standard of tutor profile content - ensuring accuracy, credibility, and quality across descriptions, credentials, videos, and reviews
Tutor Growth Marketing
- Enable tutors to self-promote across their lifecycle using Preply tools (shareable moments, referral links) and measure impact on Preply
- Shape the strategy for tutor-generated content (UGC, community sharing, social channels)
Cross-functional Program Ownership
- Collaborate closely with Product, CRM, Data, Marketing, and CX teams - building strong working relationships, aligning on priorities, and driving cross-functional initiatives to clear outcomes
- Build and present strategy to senior leaders - with clear storylines, data-backed recommendations, and crisp trade-offs
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- 6-8 years of experience in growth, marketplace operations, or lifecycle management, including direct experience in acquisition strategy
- Minimum 3 years of people management - comfortable coaching individuals, setting clear expectations, and staying close to the work to unblock and guide when needed
- Demonstrated ability to define strategy and personally own execution at scale - from diagnosis to plan to results
- Strong program and stakeholder management skills, including senior leadership influence - you build trust with product, marketing, and data teams by being proactive, reliable, and direct
- Track record of scaling programs that engage large external audiences (e.g. freelancers, creators, educators, or marketplace supply-side participants)
- Structured, data-informed decision-making - you can size opportunities, build business cases, define success metrics, and use data to drive prioritization
- Comfort with ambiguity and competing priorities - you identify what matters most and make trade-offs explicitly
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a sharp eye for clarity - you can lead a room, present to senior leaders, share clear recommendations
- Strategic thinker with a strong bias toward action, iteration, and continuous improvement
- High empathy for tutors/educators and ability to advocate for their experience cross-functionally
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in a two-sided marketplace (supply-side growth, matching, liquidity dynamics)
- Ed-tech, tutoring, or creator/freelancer platform experience
- Experience with content quality frameworks and profile optimization
- Familiarity with tutor/creator acquisition channels: job boards, affiliates, SEM, partnerships
- Experience collaborating with CRM or lifecycle marketing teams on segmented communications
- Background in fast-paced environments (tech, marketplaces, consulting)
