Job description

  1. Perform equipment safety buy-off and drive the machinery safety program:
    1. Ensure all Manufacturing, Assembly, and Test Equipment (MAE) is safe (according to site requirements) before release to production.
    2. Ensure all MAE is equipped with a hazard assessment and an environmental impact assessment before release to production.
  2. Participate in the review of machinery design and serve as an advisor on safe machinery concepts.
  3. Sustain and improve the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
    a. Serve as an auditor for the EHS management system.
    b. Sustain and update ISO procedures as and when necessary
  4. Plan and conduct EHS related training for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  5. Conduct EHS inspection/ assessment and provide technical support to stakeholders.
  6. Sustain and ensure compliance.
    a. Assist the Department Head in ensuring site compliance with governmental and local regulations pertaining to EHS and handle all contact with appropriate agencies. Ensure required regulatory reports are submitted accurately and within established deadlines.
  7. Perform accident and incident investigation, follow up on corrective action closure and report to DOSH as and when necessary.
  8. Analyze data, conduct trend analysis, apply problem-solving methodology and formulate recommendations to drive continual improvement of EHS management system performance.
  9. Manage the emergency response preparedness program.
    a. Sustain, update, and improve procedures.
    b. Maintain and update the plant evacuation map, signage, and assembly area as and when necessary
  10. Interact with all levels of people to build trust and raise the EHS awareness level among associates
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant working experience in Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS).
  • Solid knowledge of machinery safety practices and standards.
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia EHS regulatory requirements; Certified Safety and Health Officer (SHO) certification is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.
