Position Summary
This position is responsible for customer account management and coordinating and executing trading activities for assigned commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the buying and selling activities for assigned commodities
- Develop deeper understanding of supply and demand, survey market conditions, and analyze other economic forces in order to establish position in the market
- Initiate, negotiate and agree on terms of commodity purchase/sale contracts, such as price, quality, quantity, transportation, timing and payment
- Arrange efficient transportation of commodities, both by truck and rail
- Ensure thorough and accurate follow-up, execution, and closure to all contracts
- Research and identify new customers and/or suppliers as well as develop and maintain regular communication to build and grow current customer relationships
- Analyze commodity markets to identify trading opportunities
- Gain basic understanding of arbitrage, macro-environmental factors that impact the supply and demand of commodities, and logistics process and decision making

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree required (or the equivalent in work experience) preferably in Agriculture, Business, Finance Economics or related major
- 2-5 years’ of experience required in commodity merchandising, originations, or trading
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Physical Requirements and Working Environment
- Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
