Job Description Summary

Our Connectivity Driver Team in Helsinki is looking for a Senior Systems Designer to take ownership of the requirements, documentation, and compliance of connectivity driver software used in critical healthcare environments.

About the Role

Information is critical to patient care in a virtualized world. The clinical data connections are built using the connectivity drivers that our SW team develops. The drivers connect various GE HealthCare and Non-GE HealthCare medical devices to the hospital’s digital ecosystem. The drivers acquire measurement data and make it available to the network, which alerts the caregiver if needed.

As a Senior Systems Designer, your focus is to ensure that driver software design is clearly defined, fully traceable, and compliant with regulatory and quality standards. You will operate at the system level, owning requirements, documentation, and verification alignment — rather than hands-on software development.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work as the Senior Systems Designer, own the system documentation and proof of evidence to connectivity driver requirements, system level requirement, risk management, and quality management processes.

  • Ensure full alignment between requirements, design, risk management, and verification evidence

  • Ensure that connectivity software drivers achieve the design objectives required to meet the quality, regulatory, customer and business needs.

  • Produce and maintain high-quality system and regulatory documentation in accordance with medical device standards

  • Collaborate with related global design teams, and other cross-functions in multi-cultural and global environment.

  • Drive excellence and continuous improvement in software development methods and tools.

  • Foster a culture of appreciation and continuous learning.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Bio IT, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Solid understanding of software lifecycle management in a controlled/QMS environment

  • Experience working in regulated environments with formal quality and compliance processes

  • Ability and motivation to work with detailed documentation, traceability, and structured engineering practices

  • Experience in object-oriented design in C++, other modern software methodologies, and agile software development. Interest in moving beyond pure coding toward system design, requirements, and quality-driven development

  • Self-starter - eager and quick to learn and experiment.

  • Demonstrated engineering curiosity and problem-solving skills.

  • Dedication to good-quality work, and proficiency in writing technical English.

  • Fluency in English, and excellent communication skills.

  • Legally authorized to work in Finland.
