We are seeking a highly motivated in vivo electrophysiologist who will design, execute, and communicate novel multi-disciplinary research in a highly collaborative Neuroscience research team. Primary responsibilities of the successful candidate will be to apply cutting-edge single unit or multi-unit neuronal recordings to advance our Migraine and Pain programs. This effort will support the identification and development of novel therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Guide the use of in vivo electrophysiological techniques, and interacting with project teams to advance programs based on data
Support mechanistic understanding of novel targets and evaluate related molecules to advance our Neuroscience pipeline
Opportunities to contribute to other non-electrophysiological studies (cellular or other in vivo approaches)
Provide written and verbal communication of work in lab reports and team meetings
Introduce and establish cutting edge techniques and analyses
Adaptable, creative, and think quantitatively
The successful candidate will be responsible for being an active contributor to Migraine/Pain-related programs in an exciting, fast-paced team environment

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience, Master’s Degree and 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary in Neuroscience, Biology or other relevant natural sciences
Elevated proficiency in single neuron or high-density multi-channel recordings from the spinal cord, brain, or primary afferent neurons from rodents
Neuroscience background with pain/migraine experience is highly preferred. Understanding functional cell classes in the spinal cord and brain in the pain pathway would be desirable
Ability to independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner. Be able to interpret and effectively communicate results of these studies.
A background in behavioral and other cellular techniques would be an asset
The individual must be able to read and adapt scientific literature to advance techniques and innovative approaches
Ability to contribute independently, but also integrate well into a team to work across multiple scientific disciplines and functions
Desire to take on additional responsibilities to progress career
Ability to work in a highly collaborative scientific environment with strong communication skills
Experience in drug discovery would be an advantage

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
