Project Director - Integrated Waste Management Facility
Job description
AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Director to join our team in Singapore. This role will be initially appointed to lead Phase 2 of the Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) project in Tuas, Singapore—a major, multi-disciplinary infrastructure programme—and subsequently to take on other complex and high-profile projects across Singapore over the long term.
As a key member of our organisation, you will provide sustained leadership across multiple project lifecycles, driving successful outcomes while fostering team excellence and contributing to the long-term growth of our business.
- Spearhead the management and delivery of the IWMF project, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Develop and implement project strategies, aligning with organizational goals and client expectations
- Lead and mentor project team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Drive business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities and maintaining client relationships
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from inception and business case development through design, procurement, site delivery, and commissioning
- Manage project risks, developing mitigation strategies and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior management and clients
- Implement best practices in project management methodologies and tools
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Project Management, Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex projects in the waste to energy field
- Demonstrated experience in delivering or overseeing large-scale waste-to-energy or waste treatment facilities with a minimum treatment capacity of 750 tonnes per day (t/day) per plant
- Strong understanding of project lifecycle management and risk assessment
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Demonstrated ability in business development and client relationship management
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
- Proficiency in project management software and tools
- Experience in budget management and financial reporting
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices in project management
