Responsibilities

  • Drive supplier development activities to meet quality, cost, delivery, and lean manufacturing requirements
  • Conduct supplier assessments and support supplier capability improvement initiatives
  • Lead Supplier On-site Process Approval (SOPA) and APQP implementation activities
  • Perform supplier process audits and ensure effective corrective action implementation
  • Support supplier selection through risk assessments in collaboration with Purchasing and Commodity teams
  • Verify availability and validation of required quality documentation prior to sourcing decisions
  • Create and manage PPAP requests and ensure APQP deliverables are completed according to project timelines
  • Participate in supplier kick-off meetings and communicate customer-specific and internal quality requirements
  • Monitor PPAP progress and ensure milestone achievement
  • Develop and communicate PPAP convergence plans with Purchasing teams
  • Validate PPAP documentation, samples, and component approvals
  • Escalate risks related to quality, cost, delivery, and project timing
  • Manage handover of BOM components from development to plant production
  • Work closely with Purchasing, Engineering, Quality Engineering, Commodity Development, and Supplier Development teams
  • Support plants during warranty-related investigations within the first six months after SOP
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities
  • PPAP submission performance and on-time approvals
  • APQP implementation for critical components
  • Completion of process audits for PPAP validations
  • Supplier safety and quality compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience within automotive OEM or Tier 1 suppliers in Quality or Engineering roles
  • Experience with APQP and PPAP methodologies
  • Ability to read technical drawings and interpret GD&T
  • Knowledge of Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
  • Understanding of statistical quality methodologies
  • Experience conducting supplier process audits
  • CQE and/or CQA certification is considered an advantage
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent decision-making and prioritization abilities
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable interacting with all organizational levels, from shop floor operators to senior executives
  • Strong leadership mindset and ability to work in a dynamic project environment
