Job description

Nielsen is embarking on an exciting, transformational journey to modernize and streamline our end-to-end procurement processes and Global Travel program. We are looking for a dynamic Procurement Travel Associate to join our team and support our organization’s travel procurement and travel program management activities.

In this role, you will be the gears behind the scenes—assisting with supplier management, travel policy compliance, spend analysis, sourcing initiatives, and contract administration. You will support corporate travel services across airlines, hotels, ground transportation, Travel Management Companies (TMCs), and major corporate meetings & events.

The ideal candidate combines procurement expertise with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills to help optimize travel spend, elevate the traveler experience, and ensure global policy compliance.

Key Responsibilities

✈️ Travel Procurement & Sourcing

  • Support sourcing and procurement activities for key travel categories (Airlines, Hotels, Car Rentals, TMCs, and Meetings/Events).

  • Assist in supplier selection, RFP/RFQ processes, bid evaluations, and negotiations.

  • Maintain accurate supplier databases and contract repositories while coordinating supplier onboarding and performance reviews.

📊 Spend Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze travel spend data to proactively identify cost-saving and avoidance opportunities.

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly and quarterly travel procurement reports.

  • Track and measure KPIs, including online booking adoption, policy compliance, and supplier utilization.

🤝 Supplier & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders, travelers, suppliers, and external travel partners.

  • Resolve travel-related supplier issues and escalations efficiently.

  • Support regular business reviews with travel suppliers and TMC partners, while building strong internal relationships with HR, Finance, Legal, and various business units.

📜 Contract, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Assist with contract reviews, renewal tracking, and ensuring supplier compliance with SLAs and contractual obligations.

  • Support corporate travel program administration, ensuring alignment with company travel policies and procurement guidelines.

  • Identify opportunities to optimize travel procurement processes, supporting the rollout of travel technology and automation initiatives (focused on cost reduction and traveler experience).

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Finance, Hospitality, or a related field.

  • Experience: 2–5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, travel management, or a closely related operational role.

  • Domain Knowledge: Direct experience supporting corporate travel programs is highly preferred.

  • Tech Savvy: Familiarity with procurement and travel management systems (e.g., SAP Concur, modern booking apps, Amex Corporate Card, RAMP, etc.).

  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a knack for managing diverse stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.
