Our Capel facility is in the beautiful South West of WA, located approximately 15 kilometres south of Bunbury. Enjoy the enviable coastal lifestyle of living in the South West, while also being home every night.  
 

About the role

We have an opportunity available for a self-motivated Technical Officer to join the Iluka team.

Reporting to the MTF Coordinator, you will be responsible for carrying out test work in the Metallurgical Test Facility (MTF).
 

Your accountabilities will be:

  • Carry out test work in the MTF or operating plants to quality standards and timetables

  • Liaise with metallurgist and other technical professionals to develop and improve test programs

  • Assist MTF supervisor with metallurgical/analytical project work to improve safety, operational efficiency, product quality and lowering costs

  • Ensure equipment is maintained to set standards

  • Ensure MTF stock levels are maintained at required levels
     

About you

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • Certificate 4 or higher in Laboratory Technologies

  • Flotation experience would be highly regarded

  • Current High Risk (forklift) licence

  • Able to use MS Office suite at an Intermediate level

  • Ability to work unsupervised and be able to liaise with the project lead

  • Flexible with work hours, as some shift work coverage may be required during trials

  • Experience within the Mineral Sands industry (Desirable)
