Job Description:

  • Maintains compliance with state and federal laws by ensuring appropriate forms, information notices, and materials.
  • Coordinates and schedules monitoring and auditing activities for hospitals and physician group entities.
  • Presents Compliance Program educational sessions to leadership and staff. Performs compliance and privacy investigations, including user access monitor reviews, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Compliance Hotline investigations. Prepares and administers Compliance Steering Committee meetings, including chairing meetings in the absence of the RCO.
  • Analyzes audit and monitoring activity results and prepares detailed reports of findings.
  • Attends educational offerings to remain current in the area of expertise.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth and development.

• Ability to research regulatory subjects including AHCA, Medicare, Medicaid, and other physician practice /healthcare-related laws and regulations. [Required]

• Ability to satisfactorily communicate (verbally and written) with senior leadership and all other levels of personnel throughout the organization. [Required]
• Strong knowledge of hospital and physician practice operations. [Required]
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality. [Required]
• Ability to prepare effective presentations and reports using a variety of software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, composing documents effectively using advanced writing skills. [Required]
• Ability to work with other software applications/systems, such as internal and vendor compliance reporting and tracking systems, and to assist with data analytics and reporting. [Required]
• Strong communication skills and ability to present ideas and information comfortably and effectively in front of committees and large groups, legal counsel, all levels of job classes within the system, and other key stakeholders, such as patients and representatives of government agencies. [Required]
• Ability to manage and monitor progress of work plan completion, prioritize work duties, and be able to complete tasks accurately and within established timeframes. [Required]
• Working knowledge of health care compliance programs and the Office of Inspector General (OIG) “seven elements” of an effective compliance program. [Required]
• Ability to manage compliance and privacy investigations. [Required]
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to independently develop and manage project plans, effectively prioritize work, complete tasks/projects within established timeframes, and report on progress to leadership. [Required]
• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and recommendations. [Required]
• Auditing Skills. [Preferred]
• Basic knowledge of medical coding and billing. [Preferred]

Education:
• Bachelor's [Required]

Work Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare, compliance, physician practice operations, ethics, patient privacy, auditing, regulatory affairs, law, or a combination thereof [Required]
• Experience developing compliance/privacy programs [Preferred]
• Experience handling complex compliance/privacy investigations [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications:
• Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) [Preferred]

Pay Range:

$72,786.83 - $135,385.27
