Food & Nutrition -Patient Svcs Job Summary

Ensures timely and accurate distribution of patient menu tickets for each meal period and modifies patient menu tickets for all meals, nourishments according to physician prescribed diet via call center or standard service. Refers patients with special needs to registered dietitian.

Required Qualifications

  • Require one (1) to two (2) years of computer experience (ability to navigate programs/systems).
  • Require a High School Diploma, GED or Certificate; or must obtain within six (6) months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer competency in knowledge of all special diets for patient education.
  • Prefer ability to communicate effectively, filing and mathematical skills required to compute dietetic values of food and to work with dietetic enteral formulas.
  • Prefer courtesy and diplomacy in dealing with patients, hospital staff, fellow workers and the department management team.
  • Prefer verbal ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes, and labels.
  • Prefer two (2) years of experience in hospital dietetics or related position.
  • Prefer the ability to multi-task via multiple avenues such as (not all inclusive) phone, computer, mobile platforms, FNS staff, patient and/or other department staff communications and interactions).
