Job description

In this role, you’ll work closely with operational leaders and be connected to our global WHS team, to support a safe and healthy work environment for our employees, students, contractors and visitors.

What you'll be doing

  • Implement, and monitor workplace health, safety, and wellness programs in compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  • Lead the review, maintenance and publishing of approved global WHS policies, procedures, tools and resources.
  • Conduct risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures.
  • Support the development of frameworks, policies and procedures, for both staff and student groups across Navitas' global footprint.
  • Support with the preparation of leadership and Board reports, building and maintaining dashboards.
  • Lead global wellbeing initiatives, such as annual exercise challenges and wellbeing surveys.
  • Manage Workers’ Compensation policy renewals for Australian Navitas entities.
  • Maintain accurate records on Donesafe and SOLV platforms and prepare reports on health and safety metrics.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Exploring opportunities to utilise AI to maximise success in role and value for your stakeholders.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Health & Safety or an Allied Health discipline
  • Eligibility for AIHS membership as a Certified WHS Practitioner or Certified WHS Professional
  • Demonstrated experience across WHS risk management, including hazard identification, investigation, trauma informed principles and controls
  • Strong working knowledge of Workers’ Compensation legislation and contemporary injury management practices
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, negotiation, communication and influencing skills
  • Proven project management capability in a complex, matrix or shared services environment
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage confidential matters
  • Practical experience using AI technologies and the MS Office suite
  • Strong analysis, written communication and administrative skills

    Desirable:
  • Experience in Australian workers’ compensation insurance management and premium reduction
  • Experience using HR, WHS or related information systems for data and reporting
  • Knowledge of Australian state and territory WHS legislation
  • Experience working across geographically dispersed and operationally diverse organisations
