Job description

TECHNICAL RECRUITER (CONTRACT)

San Francisco, CA

Hybrid 3-Month Contract (with possibility of extension)

ABOUT US

Metriport is an open-source data intelligence platform that helps healthcare organizations access and exchange patient data in real-time. We integrate with all major US healthcare IT systems and tap into comprehensive medical data for 300+ million individuals.

We've found product-market fit with multi-million ARR, 100+ customers (including Amazon, Strive Health, and Weight Watchers), backing from top VCs, and years of runway. We're ready to scale. We're a tight-knit, high-performing team of mostly former founders (including YC alumni). We're engineering-heavy, operate with minimal bureaucracy and high autonomy, and hire based on competence, not prestige. We push hard—founders work six days a week from our SF office—but give everyone freedom to craft their schedule. We measure output and we're committed to sustainable intensity.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us scale our team. This is a high-ownership, high-activity role with real impact from day one.

If you love hunting down hard-to-reach candidates, running experiments to sharpen your pipeline, and owning the early stages of the hiring funnel, this role was built for you. You will drive a full cycle recruiting process from sourcing to closing.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Sourcing & Outbound

  • Prospect relentlessly across Ashby, LinkedIn, Juicebox, Gem, and emerging channels to identify top candidates for technical and non-technical roles
  • Craft personalized, high-conversion outreach and follow-up sequences across email, LinkedIn, and beyond
  • Build and maintain sourcing funnels that are organized, warm, and consistently full
  • Track response rates, test messaging variations, and continuously optimize what works
  • Leverage automation and AI tools to move faster and source smarter

Interviewing & Coordination

  • Qualify candidate interest, assess motivation, and route high-signal prospects to the right stakeholders
  • Schedule and coordinate initial calls between candidates and hiring managers
  • Thrive in a fast-moving environment, and own the full recruiting cycle from sourcing to close

Talent Brand

  • Help manage our external hiring presence, job listings, social content, and job site profiles to attract world-class talent

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience: 3 + years of sourcing experience across both technical and non-technical roles, ideally at a startup or staffing agency
  • Technical fluency: Enough domain knowledge to understand our product and goals in the healthcare data and IT space, or the ability to ramp up quickly
  • Outbound mindset: You enjoy prospecting, following up persistently, and hitting targets without waiting for perfect direction
  • Strong communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you know how to get responses from busy, in-demand people
  • Data-driven: You measure what matters, adjust quickly, and are always looking to improve
  • Curious and coachable: You actively seek feedback, iterate fast, and thrive in ambiguity
  • Tool-savvy: Proficient with (or quick to learn) tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Juicebox, Ashby, and similar platforms

Preferred: Prior experience sourcing for healthcare or healthcare IT organizations

This is a contract role with the opportunity for extension and/or full-time conversion.
