The Position

As a DevOps Infrastructure Engineer & Validation Engineer, you will independently solve technical business problems with guidance if needed and contribute to projects requiring knowledge in DevOps and infrastructure management. 

You will work closely with IT Quality and the Enterprise Cloud teams to ensure that the latest ITSM and IDLC standards are applied and the platform is maintaining the qualified status.

Your Responsibilities

  • Scope/(Content Leadership): Engages in and improves, with guidance, the whole lifecycle of platforms and services—from inception and design through deployment, operation, and retirement. Applies software engineering principles to build and manage large-scale IT infrastructure products, abstracting away infrastructure complexity by providing self-service tools and APIs for developers. Implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines and develops self-healing features.

  • Accountability/Problem Solving: Effectively applies problem-solving and decision-making skills to address issues that impact development, deployment, and performance. Ensures IT infrastructure services reach and maintain agreed Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Objectives (SLOs), and Agreements (SLAs) in compliance with QA requirements. Monitors and resolves incidents, practices sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems, and contributes to Disaster Recovery execution plans.

  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrates a customer and delivery-focused mindset. Collaborates closely with developers, Managed Services suppliers, and vendors to continuously improve development velocity and service reliability. 

  • Impact/Strategy: Ensures implemented solutions comply with Quality/Regulatory standards and implements cost, compliance, and security best practices. Contributes to audit exercises, manages ITSM processes, and maintains in-depth knowledge of emerging technologies to address complex, interdisciplinary problems.

  • Complexity/(Product Size): Demonstrates proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, virtual team members from various locations and cultural backgrounds to achieve project or product goals.

Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to research technical topics, learn new tools quickly, and a strong desire to develop expertise in Cloud and DevOps practices.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team, actively participating in discussions and code reviews.

Technical Skills

  • Basic understanding of core AWS, Azure, GCP, CaaS services.

  • Hands-on experience building Cloud applications via Terraform or CDK.

  • Familiarity with Gitlab/Github, SDLC practices and CI/CD.

  • Hands-on experience using scripting languages such as Python or Bash and testing frameworks like Pytest. 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (SAFe), principles, processes, and tools.

  • Openness to using AI assistants to support learning, code generation and debugging.

Additional Qualifications

  • Familiarity with incident response, including supporting the adoption of ITSM processes and conducting blameless postmortems.

  • Proactive approach to troubleshooting issues and finding potential solutions.
