Job description
- Perform month-end close activities including preparing and posting journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, analyzing variances and drawing conclusions from available data.
- Assist with the validation and consolidation of monthly and quarterly financial data for Financial Reporting.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and develop follow-up action plans to resolve reconciling items.
- Analyze accounting transactions, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy and completion, and provide variance explanations.
- Assist in the quarterly preparation of cash flow forecasts and reconcile bank account data to GL cash balances.
- Collaborate with Property Management, Real Estate Development, Corporate Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and other departments, acting as a liaison and providing financial insights to meet their needs.
- Support completion of annual tax package reports in preparation for tax filings.
- Validate the completeness of lease data, including identifying all leases and relevant transactions, to ensure accuracy in financial reporting in compliance with ASC 842.
- Track and oversee the timely payment of property taxes across Real Estate portfolio.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly financial result presentations.
- Identify opportunities for strategic projects and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the department.
- Solicit and respond to feedback to improve team and personal performance.
- CPA eligible preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Microsoft Excel Experience and proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in managing tasks, while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with the ability to working independently with minimal supervision.
- Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
- Results-oriented mindset with a consistent track record of meet demanding deadlines while prioritizing competing tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Yardi Voyager preferred.
- Financial modeling and analysis experience preferred.
Pay Rate: Up to $38.46/hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
