The Opportunity 

The Art Director is responsible for leading all design aspects for advertising campaigns. This person will manage a small design team and ensure all visual aspects of the agency’s creative output effectively communicate client

messaging. 

Job Responsibilities 

The Art Director will oversee all visual development of advertising campaigns, working closely with copywriters, account teams, and clients to ensure creative concepts align with strategic goals The Art Director’s duties include: 

  • Leading, developing design concepts in alignment with client campaigns  

  • Ensuring design consistency across all media channels (print, digital, social, video) 

  • Participating in the generation of campaign concepts  

  • Developing and maintaining a cohesive visual style and creative vision for campaigns, websites, advertisements and multimedia projects 

  • Working closely with clients and agency leadership, and cross-functional teams to present creative concepts and integrate feedback 

  • Approving artwork, layouts, and visual materials for final production 

  • Participating in photo shoots, commercial shoots, and other production activities to ensure the client’s vision is realized when needed 

  • Translating marketing messages, moods, and concepts into compelling visual imagery. 

  • Managing multiple projects and accounts while meeting tight deadlines  

  • Managing junior design team  

  • Staying on top of design trends and design technologies 

  

Requirements: 

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creative and strategic design work 

  • Leadership and team management skills to inspire and guide creative teams 

  • Excellent visual communication, typography, and layout skills 

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 

  • Knowledge of emerging design technologies, including digital, AR/VR, and AI-assisted tools  

  • Experience in advertising, marketing, or related creative industries

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. The compensation range for this position is CAD 95,000-100,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location. Eligible employees at certain levels can participate in a discretionary long-term financial incentive plan, subject to plan participation rules.
