Director, MBPS Actuarial Reinsurance Services  

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of MBPS Actuarial Pricing, Reinsurance, and Risk Management Services, the Director, MBPS Actuarial Reinsurance Services will provide dedicated leadership and oversight of MBPS Actuarial teams supporting global reinsurance operations across North America and Asia.

The successful candidate will enhance MBPS Actuarial’s reinsurance operating model, strengthen collaboration with global teams, and drive transformation, process improvements, and capability building within the actuarial shared services platform.

Established in 2012, MBPS Actuarial has grown into a global center of excellence with over 200 professionals supporting Valuation, Asset & Liability Modelling, Experience Analytics, Pricing, and other core actuarial services.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the senior MBPS leader accountable for reinsurance operations, contributing to overall actuarial strategy and operating model evolution
  • Build strong relationships with global reinsurance leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across segments and geographies
  • Provide insights and informed perspective on reinsurance processes, performance trends, and emerging priorities; support alignment across global teams
  • Champion operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement across reinsurance-supported activities

2. Leadership & Team Development

  • Provide end-to-end people leadership for MBPS reinsurance administration teams across North America and Asia, and MBPS Asia Reinsurance Treaty Consultants
  • Foster a high-performing, inclusive, and collaborative team culture aligned with MBPS values
  • Lead coaching, performance management, and capability development initiatives to support team growth and retention
  • Strengthen connectivity and “one-team” culture across MBPS and global partners

3. Reinsurance Operations Oversight

  • Provide direct oversight of MBPS Actuarial Reinsurance colleagues, ensuring delivery of high-quality outputs
  • Act as the primary MBPS point of contact for reinsurance-related priorities and escalations
  • Support the execution of business priorities in partnership with global reinsurance stakeholders and actuarial leadership
  • Ensure robust governance, documentation, and consistency across reinsurance processes

4. Transformation, Process Improvement & Automation

  • Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and service quality across reinsurance activities
  • Accelerate adoption of automation solutions and maximize system capabilities to improve delivery outcomes
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and enhance data-driven decision-making
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across reinsurance operations

5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Change Management

  • Partner with valuation, finance, and actuarial teams to coordinate activities, particularly in support of system changes and transformation initiatives
  • Support onboarding, transition, and integration of new processes, systems, and team structures
  • Ensure effective change management practices to enable successful delivery of strategic initiatives

6. Senior SME / Point-in-Charge (PIC) for Reinsurance Initiatives

  • Serve as senior point-of-contact for complex or cross-functional reinsurance initiatives requiring strong coordination and leadership
  • Provide strategic insights and thought leadership leveraging cross-segment exposure
  • Support enterprise reinsurance priorities beyond core operations, adapting to evolving business needs

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in actuarial, reinsurance, or insurance operations roles
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance operations and/or actuarial processes preferred
  • Proven track record in driving transformation, process improvements, and/or automation initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across global teams and senior leadership levels
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear insights
  • Results-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Actuarial background or credentials are an advantage but not required
