Job description

Work Conditions:

On the daily, you will: 

 

Preventive Maintenance

  • Participate in planning and executing routine preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
  • Document all maintenance tasks, repairs, time required, and parts used on work orders.
  • Recommend improvements to reduce future breakdowns and increase equipment reliability.

Maintenance & Equipment Repair: 

  • Perform mechanical repairs, maintenance, and installation on machinery, tools, and industrial equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in a safe and serviceable condition.

Operational Support: 

  • Assist with the preparation and implementation of lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Support recycling operations, including the handling and processing of materials.
  • Source and procure general small tool parts as required.

Qualifications: 

  • Millwright trade certification or relevant trade certification; 
  • Red seal certification;
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or millwright work;
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical;
  • Experience with welding, cutting, and fabrication is preferred;
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and schematics;
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues independently;
  • Computer literacy for maintenance documentation requirements;
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to measurements, tolerances, and adjustments.

Physical Demands: 

  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and reaching; 
  • Use of hands for handling tools, parts, and equipment; 
  • Occasional kneeling, crouching, and working in confined spaces; 
  • Regular lifting and moving of materials; items over 50 lbs require assistance or mechanical support; 
  • Visual requirements include close vision, depth perception, and ability to see details at close range; 
  • Willingness to work overtime or respond to urgent maintenance needs as required.
