Salary: $135,826.04 - $154,025.92 (dependent on qualification) (pro-rata) + super

About the role
An exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner/Transitional Nurse Practitioner to join the vascular access nursing team and deliver advanced clinical expertise in line with your scope of practice.
Provide clinical leadership to nursing staff across the facility, advanced clinical management and coordination of vascular access care for all inpatient and community services.
Provide expert skills in the insertion, care and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs) and Peripheral Intravenous Vascular Cannulas (PIVC) including responding to Hospital‑Acquired Complications associated with vascular‑access infections or incidents, working with relevant hospital teams to ensure timely, coordinated, and high‑quality clinical responses.
Support workforce capability development in the care and management of vascular access devices, including leading policy and procedure reviews, delivering PIVC and CVAD education & training, facilitating workshops, and jointly leading the Invasive Devices Community of Practice
Provide leadership that facilitates the ongoing development of clinical practice and initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
Monday to Wednesday role working 24 hours per week.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency (APHRA) and endorsed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to practice as a nurse practitioner.
[or undertaking study that will lead to endorsement as a nurse practitioner by the NMBA]Minimum 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field
Ability to deliver evidenced based, patient-centred care within a complex environment, autonomously and collaboratively, using advanced and extended clinical skills
Demonstrated high level leadership within the workplace and across external agencies including the ability to form productive working relationships through highly developed communication, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated experience in contribution to nursing research, quality improvement initiatives and policy and procedure development and implementation
Comprehensive understanding of clinical governance, clinical practice development and current nursing issues
Demonstrated commitment to own professional development and support of others professional development through leadership, delivery of education and clinical practice support/supervision
Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in daily practice
Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment
