Streetworks Lead Operative - HGV

How you'll make a difference As Streetworks Lead Operative, you will carry out essential mechanical operations such as road sweeping and gully emptying across South Gloucestershire. We take pride in our innovative approach to service delivery and operate a modern, well maintained fleet of vehicles to support high-quality, efficient work. What you will be doing It will be your responsibility to carry out HGV driving duties, including operating gully tankers and road sweeping equipment as required. Arriving to work by 7:30am, you will complete daily vehicle and safety checks before travelling to site to carry out the planned tasks for the day. You will ensure all waste is disposed of correctly, in line with duty of care requirements and relevant waste legislation. Throughout the day, you will accurately record activities, report on work progress and carry out basic operator repairs and maintenance, demonstrating a strong attention to detail and commitment to the safe use of machinery and tools. This work involves being outdoors in all weather conditions, often on grass verges, footpaths and in close proximity to traffic, with associated noise and fumes. What we need from you It is essential that you hold a full, valid driving licence with a minimum category C/Class 2 entitlement, along with at least 2 years of HGV driving experience. You will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the job role requirements. The role involves extensive walking and requires a good level of physical fitness, with regular manual handling tasks including bending, lifting and carrying.
