Job description
Work as a Registered Practical Nurse providing nursing care for acute medical and cardiac/neurology patients. Opportunity to work in other areas within the medical program is also available.

- Current Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
- Recent acute medical experience an asset
- Strong patient assessment skills required
- Required skills include aseptic technique, suctioning and wound care
- Experience with medication administration required
- Organized and with ability to work in a team environment
- Caring, compassionate, customer focused attitude towards patients and families
- Ability to function in a fast-paced environment
- Good team player with positive attitude
- Evidence of continued learning
- Must be physically able to do the job, which involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
The ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation. We require a person with good communication skills with a clear patient focus with the ability to manage execution and to foster teamwork and cooperation.
Hours: Various rotating 12 hour shifts - 0730-1930 and 1930 to 0730 (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $36.08 to $39.02 per hour
