Overview
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Facilities Operations Technician I - The Facilities Operations Technician I assists electricians, plumbers, and carpenters to install and repair electrical, plumbing or other structural repairs at various sites throughout the Cherokee Nation Reservation.
Facilities Operations Technician II - The Facilities Operations Technician II assists all trades to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in mechanical, electrical, grounds, plumbing, or structural repairs.
Facilities Operations Technician III – The Facilities Operations Technician III performs extensive preventive maintenance and corrective repairs to mechanical, electrical, grounds, plumbing or structural repairs.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Facilities Operations Technician I - High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Three (3) years of experience in maintenance.
Facilities Operations Technician II – One year certificate from a college or technical school or an equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of certification. Five (5) years of experience in maintenance.
Facilities Operations Technician III – Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Five (5) years of maintenance experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilities Operations Technician I - Gathers tools and supplies to be used at worksite. Measures, cuts, and bends wire, conduit, pipe or other material. Drills holes for wiring and pulls or pushes wiring through opening. Assists in lifting, positioning, and fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors. Performs minor repairs such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs, and switches. Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Disassembles defective equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Completes paperwork as required. Maintains tools and equipment and performs minor repairs as required. Prepares worksite by clearing debris and leveling surface. Prunes trees and remove brush. Performs basic carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical. Prepares and installs landscape designs, figures amounts and lays sod, cuts and grows spring flowers, shrubs, and trees. Performs other duties, tasks, and services consistent with this position as assigned.
Facilities Operations Technician II - Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Assists in mechanical, electrical, building grounds, and plumbing assignments. Completes less complex mechanical, electrical, building grounds, and plumbing assignments. Conducts thorough preventive maintenance inspections. Perform extensive preventive maintenance procedures. Disassembles defective equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Operates lift trucks, maintenance equipment, grounds equipment, and company vehicles. Analyzes and repairs basic equipment and system malfunctions. Completes paperwork as required. Performs other duties, tasks, and services consistent with this position as assigned.
Facilities Operations Technician III - Performs extensive preventive maintenance procedures. Identifies and assists in mechanical, electrical, building grounds, and plumbing assignments. Disassembles defective equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment. Maintains tools and equipment and keeps supplies and parts in order. Completes less complex mechanical, electrical, building grounds, and plumbing assignments. Disassembles defective equipment, replaces defective or worn parts, and reassembles equipment. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Operates lift trucks, maintenance equipment, grounds equipment, and company vehicles. Analyzes and repairs basic equipment/system malfunctions. Completes paperwork as required. Performs other duties, tasks, and services consistent with this position as assigned.
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
Facilities Operations Technician I and II - This position does not directly supervise any individuals. Assignments received in broad terms with timelines and objectives set.
Facilities Operations Technician III - This position does not directly supervise any individuals but may serve as a lead in the absence of supervisors. Assignments received in broad terms with timelines and objectives set.
