Overview

Full time 36 hours/week | 9:00am - 5:30pm Mon-Fri

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct patient care and supportive services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The PCA assists in delivering safe, effective, patient-centered care while ensuring a clean, orderly environment and demonstrating service excellence behaviors to promote patient and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED

Necessary Skills

  • Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply all hospital computer technologies and procedures that affect patient care delivery.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and standard precautions, ability to read/write in English, etc.

Required Licensure/Certifications

-Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

-Crisis Prevention Institute training within 90 days of hire or transfer and then annually is required for the Psychiatric unit only.

Preferred Licensure/Certifications: N/A

Required Experience: Less than one year

Preferred Experience: N/A Preferred Education: N/A
