Job description
Experience: Minimum 15 years
Qualification: Postgraduate degree in Geology or a closely related field
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive studies of water sources, aquifers, and their contribution to lakes and surrounding ecosystems based on available reports and field investigations.
- Analyze and prepare detailed geological profiles of lakes, catchment areas, and associated landforms.
- Assess the geological stability of landmasses within the project area using existing studies, surveys, and field data.
- Develop and maintain inventories of land use patterns based on geological and stability assessments.
- Identify geological hazards and recommend mitigation measures for unstable landforms in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including tourism development, environmental, social, infrastructure, and planning experts.
- Engage with government agencies, local communities, and other key stakeholders to gather data and support project implementation.
- Support the preparation of master plans by integrating geological considerations into land-use and infrastructure planning.
- Work closely with the Team Leader and Deputy Team Leader to ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
- Contribute to technical reports, presentations, maps, and documentation related to geological assessments.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of hydrogeology, geomorphology, land stability analysis, and environmental geology.
- Experience in GIS applications, geological mapping, and interpretation of geospatial data.
- Knowledge of watershed management, aquifer studies, and sustainable resource planning.
- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Proven experience in handling at least two master planning projects is preferred.
Preferred Project Experience
- Experience working on regional plans, master plans, tourism development projects, or environmental impact assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse stakeholders.
