OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Assembler. Under close supervision, this individual will perform limited electronic or electro-mechanical production assembly and assembly operations of a repetitive nature to build up and assemble routine units in accordance with assembly process travelers and assembly process specification sheets using small hand tools and other specialized equipment to perform assigned job.
Responsibilities
- Assemble microelectronic components, optoelectronic devices, and subassemblies under the guidance of the production lead while meeting workmanship, quality, and productivity standards.
- Follow written procedures, process sheets, travelers, work instructions, and operating specifications to complete assembly operations accurately and consistently under the guidance of the production lead.
- Use precision hand tools and equipment such as tweezers, microscopes, probes, cutters, dispensers, and other small assembly tools to handle delicate components and perform detailed assembly tasks.
- Apply epoxy, adhesives, and other materials carefully to ensure correct coverage, placement, and bond integrity while avoiding contamination or damage to sensitive parts.
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, blueprints, diagrams, bills of material, and previously established methods to determine proper assembly sequence, materials, and required process steps.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant years of experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Experience in precision assembly, electronics assembly, microelectronics, semiconductor, medical device, or optoelectronics manufacturing desired.
- Basic knowledge of component identification, blueprint reading, and assembly drawings desired.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, travelers, drawings, and assembly documentation desired.
- Must be able to use fingercots, gloves, and safety goggles as required in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy are essential.
- Must be a team player.
- Die attach, wire bonding, eutectic die attach, and mechanical measurement experience desired.
- Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively using the business language (English).

Pay may range from $17.00 to $17.00 hourly
The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
