Job Overview
Pharmacy supervisors have accountability for leading high-functioning pharmacy teams and supervising daily pharmacy services in their designated area(s). This includes, but is not limited to, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical care services, drug information, drug distribution, medication safety, process improvement, financial and inventory optimization initiatives, clinical service support, and education/development of staff, students or residents.
Hiring this position will give our float team the support they need to better serve our patients, attain clinical goals and patient satisfaction.
This position will require 3 days per week in office at Seven Lakes in Shoreview, MN. The other 2 days will be floating at one of our retail pharmacy locations.
Responsibilities
- Continuously improves work processes to serve customers and meet business goals. Ensures high quality pharmacy and medication management services.
- Manages all appropriate pharmacy processes and systems to ensure excellent patient care and timely and accurate delivery of medication services.
- Prepares and/or dispenses medications and compounded sterile products using good technique and safe practices, as appropriate to the role.
- Assures that medication storage areas and the medication use process meets all regulatory requirements in the assigned area(s), including, but not limited to, Board of Pharmacy, TJC, CMS, MN Department of Health, DEA.
- Manages staffing levels and drug expenditures to meet departmental budget parameters.
- Ensures that appropriate medication safety programs are in place to ensure the safest possible drug therapies.
- Develops and maintains programs designed to improve the skills of pharmacists, technicians, or trainees.
- Ensures that all relevant policies and procedures are followed.
- Understands and accepts the challenge of fiscal management. Fully comprehends the financial challenges in healthcare and is an effective steward of limited resources.
- Demonstrates ongoing fiscal responsiveness within and outside area of responsibility.
- Involves staff and stakeholders in financial management strategies.
- Serves as a resource to pharmacy staff members and encourages their development through coaching and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. in Pharmacy and/or
- Doctorate of Pharmacy
- 2 years of pharmacy experience
- Pharmacist MN Board of Pharm
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
- 1 year of pharmacy leadership experience

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions.
