Position Overview

We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Improvement & Validation Engineer to support manufacturing process improvement and validation, fully on-site in Pontiac, IL. In this role, you will provide daily support to quality and operations teams, splitting your time between office-based work (PCN documentation, testing reports, prototype design, and manufacturing process analysis) and hands-on shop floor and lab work (manufacturing process troubleshooting and prototype validation).

Key Contributions & Responsibilities

  • Support daily operations related to manufacturing process improvement and validation.
  • Work with the quality and production engineering teams to validate new manufacturing processes, PCNs (Process Change Notices), and related documentation.
  • Prepare testing reports, prototype designs, and manufacturing process analyses (approximately 30% of role, office-based).
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and conduct prototype validation directly on the shop floor and in the lab (approximately 70% of role).

Team Structure & Work Environment

  • You will work closely with quality and production engineering teams to support daily manufacturing operations and process validation activities.
  • Work environment is a mix of office and shop floor, with the majority of time (approximately 70%) spent on the shop floor and in the lab. This is a fully on-site role in Pontiac, IL.

Education & Experience

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience required. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings, and common computations; ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
