Job description

Are you ready to take the next step in your sales career? We’re looking for a proactive, customer-focused individual to manage inbound enquiries, qualify leads, and help drive our commercial growth.

Step into the role

In this office-based role, you’ll be the vital link between clients and our operational teams - delivering excellent service, supporting sales targets, and collaborating across departments.

You will be accountable for delivering sales KPIs relevant to this role, growing sales amongst smaller customers, and supporting the Outside Sales team to achieve associated sales targets.

Main Responsibilities

Inbound Sales & Quotation Handling

Customer Relationship Management

Collaboration & Communication with laboratory, operations, and technical teams

Sales Administration & Reporting

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Number of quotations issued per week/month

Quotation win rate

Lead qualification rate (percentage of enquiries deemed viable)

Follow-up rate on issued quotations

CRM Accuracy: Completeness and timeliness of data entry in Microsoft Dynamics.

Our Offer

Salary is £25,000-£29,000 per annum

Based in Consett, County Durham, 37.5hrs per week, Mon – Fri (0900-1700)

Your profile

Experience

· Background in inside sales, customer service, or sales support, ideally within a technical or scientific environment. Experience handling inbound enquiries and managing client relationships is essential.

Technical Skills

· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiar with CRM systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics). Able to issue quotations, manage sales data, and support reporting tasks.

Communication

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner. Capable of engaging with clients and internal teams effectively.

Sales Acumen

· Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, qualify leads, and contribute to sales growth. Experience in upselling, cross-selling, and reactivating lapsed customers is desirable.

Education

A good level of secondary education to include GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English
