Job description

The United States Coast Guard is seeking motivated individuals to serve in roles that protect America’s maritime interests. Coast Guard members carry out missions that range from search and rescue and law enforcement to environmental protection and national defense. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform search and rescue operations to save lives at sea.
  • Enforce U.S. laws on domestic waterways and conduct maritime security patrols.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair Coast Guard vessels, aircraft, and equipment.
  • Support disaster relief and humanitarian missions.
  • Conduct environmental protection duties, including pollution prevention and response.
  • Train continuously to maintain operational readiness and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Age: 17–31 (with parental consent if under 18).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
  • Meet physical, medical, and moral requirements established by the Coast Guard.
  • Pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
