Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Brooklyn, NY (3–4 days/week on site, 1/2 remote)
Compensation: $105,000–$115,000 base discretionary bonus
Employment Type: Full-time, permanent
Job Summary
A well-established and innovative company in the creative and visual solutions industry is seeking a senior accountant to join its team in Brooklyn, NY. This is a full-time, hybrid position offering the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the company’s accounting operations and month-end close processes as it continues to grow and scale.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in general ledger work, financial analysis, and monthly close procedures.
Key Responsibilities
•
Own and execute key components of the monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and fixed asset schedules
•
Develop and maintain detailed balance sheet roll forward schedules, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and audit readiness
•
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure consistency across reporting periods
•
Support and enhance internal financial reporting, including variance analysis, trend identification, and documentation for management review
•
Assist with year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed
•
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate classification and treatment of financial data
•
Use SQL query tools to pull, review, and validate accounting and operational data (training provided if needed)
•
Contribute to process improvements, documentation of controls, and development of best practices
•
Adapt and respond to the evolving needs of a growing accounting team in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
•
5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or mid-sized business environment
•
Proven experience preparing and maintaining balance sheet roll forward schedules
•
Strong technical accounting skills and comfort working across the general ledger and financial reporting functions
•
Prior experience managing or heavily contributing to month-end close
•
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
•
Exposure to SQL or willingness to learn data querying as part of financial validation processes
•
Experience with EFI Pace or similar ERP systems is helpful, but not required
•
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or CPA-track is a plus
