Job Description

Seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to lead and manage all aspects of the accounts receivable function, with direct oversight of billing, collections, and AR processing. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing a small but efficient team and actively participating in collection efforts to maintain healthy cash flow. The position also plays a key role in integrating and managing accounts receivable processes for newly acquired companies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of three: Billing Specialist, Collections Specialist, and AR Clerk.
  • Lead daily operations of the accounts receivable function, including invoicing, cash application, credit management, and collections.
  • Take an active, hands-on role in managing key customer accounts, ensuring timely collections and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor aging reports and develop strategies to minimize past-due accounts and bad debt exposure.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for AR integration during acquisitions—assess, onboard, and align new AR processes with company standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Customer Service, Accounting) to resolve billing and payment issues.
  • Evaluate and improve AR policies and procedures to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Generate and analyze AR reports and metrics; present regular updates to leadership on cash collections, DSO, and AR performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 5 years of progressive AR experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Proven ability to manage collections for a high-volume, multi-entity organization.
  • Experience with acquisition integration and AR system/process consolidation preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and Excel.
