We’re seeking an experienced IBMi (DB2 for i) Database Administrator to support and manage enterprise-level database environments. This role involves performance tuning, capacity planning, data security, backup/recovery, and cross-functional collaboration with internal IT and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

•

Maintain, optimize, and secure IBMi-based DB2 databases

•

Support database performance, tuning, and availability

•

Manage capacity, indexing, and system maintenance tasks

•

Collaborate with dev and infrastructure teams on schema design, tuning, and HA/DR strategies

•

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards

•

Participate in OS upgrade planning and troubleshooting

•

Provide database support in a 24/7 environment (on-call rotation)

What We’re Looking For

•

10 years of IT experience, with deep IBMi (OS/400) and DB2 for i expertise

•

IBM Certified DB2 for i Administrator preferred

•

Skilled in SQL, indexing, query optimization, and backup strategies

•

Familiarity with IBM Power Systems and job/work management tools (ACS, STRSQL, IBM Navigator, etc.)

•

Experience with ILE RPG, ILE CL, Java, and SQL/PL

•

Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills

•

Bonus: Familiarity with MySQL, Oracle, Snowflake, cloud platforms, PHP, or Node.js
