Job description

TRC is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Manager with a strong background in landside and airside construction located at our Sacramento, CA office. As a Construction Manager, you will play a vital role in executing the construction of airside projects by providing leadership and technical expertise, project coordination, and administrative support. In this role you will help manage an exciting expansion project that will reshape the Airport to accommodate projected passenger growth over the next seven years including a pedestrian walkway, terminals, parking garage, consolidated ground transportation center, and finalizing with a rental car facility. The anticipated start date for this role is September 2023.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning construction projects and overseeing their progress from start to finish in a timely and cost-effective manner. Your key responsibilities will include budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution. With your keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills, you will ensure that all construction activities align with the established timeline and budget. Your expertise in project management will be crucial in coordinating resources, resolving any issues that may arise, and delivering successful construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • This on-site supervisory staff is directly responsible for administration of construction contracts and reviews the work of Client, contractor, and third parties in accordance with the terms and conditions of applicable contracts and documents.
  • Responsible for on-site construction management activities and will be the primary point of contact with the contractor during the construction phase.
  • Review progress of the work to assure compliance with the contract documents.
  • Responsible to pro-actively review the contract documents to anticipate, identify, and/or assist with preparing any change orders needed to resolve conflicts and/or recommend improvements.
  • Provide oversight of construction activities on the behalf of the owner to ensures safety of employees of all parties and the traveling public.
  • Responsible for ensuring complete, accurate and timely contract records, pertaining to construction progress, job expenditures, budget programs, and work order balances.
  • Supervises or performs construction assessments of contractor's submittals and work to verify compliance with contract requirements including plans, specifications, special provisions, utility agreements, etc.
  • Other related duties as stipulated by project requirements.

Qualifications

  • A CMC or PMP or a masters in construction management is preferred.
  • Bachelors in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Construction Manager in airport environment and/or large civil/structural projects.
  • Must have airfield construction experience and shall have thorough knowledge of FAA standards and requirements and shall have technical expertise in construction of airport facilities including terminals, parking structures, and landside areas.
  • Experience on design-build projects; experience with progressive design-build, and CMGC is preferred.
  • Experience working with transportation entities in California preferred.
  • Experience in administration of contracts for construction and design.
  • Experience in day-to-day management of large construction management staff.
  • Cal/OSHA 30 training certification prior to start of work.
  • Valid California Class C driver's license

Compensation

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $190,000-$230,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
