Western Veterinary Specialist & Emergency Centre is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our Surgery Department and play a vital role in supporting our veterinarians, Registered Veterinary Technologists, and surgical team. In this position, you will help deliver exceptional patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures while ensuring a safe, efficient, and compassionate experience for both pets and their families.

Key Responsibilities

•

Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments in our surgery department; replenish supplies and e nsure cleanliness and adherence to hospital protocols and infection control standards.

Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents

•

Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients

•

General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas and common areas

•

Exceptional client service skills

•

Compassion and nurturing attitude

•

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations

•

Ability to adapt in changing situations

•

Efficient in carrying out assignments independently

•

Takes initiative to complete tasks throughout the day

•

Support other departments when necessary

Schedule

•

10 hour shifts, 4 days per week
