Orchard - Content Creator

We're growing our team; we're looking for a Content Creator who loves animals as much as they love making things. You'll be creating content that speaks directly to passionate pet owners — producing work that educates, entertains, and inspires action across social and digital channels.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, high-output content role embedded in our strategy team. As our Social Media Content Creator, you'll own the end-to-end creation of social-first content - from ideation and scripting through to filming, editing, and performance tracking. You'll be the creative engine behind the presence of three brands across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn, helping connect with pet owners across the US market, and translating science into human stories to deliver important health messages to Australians.  

You'll work closely with strategists, art directors, copywriters, and account managers at Orchard, as well as key stakeholders on the client side, to deliver content that's on-brand and genuinely compelling. 

What You'll Do

Content Creation & Production (approx. 80%)

• Own the organic social media content plans for three brands  
• Concept, script, shoot, and edit high-performing short-form video content (TikToks, Reels, Stories,) tailored to the brand’s voice and audience.  
• Explore the integration of AI tools to help scale up creative production. 
• Pets will often be the star of our content, so you will need to be comfortable filming with dogs and cats 
• Maintain a consistent and compelling visual aesthetic across all content, including colour, typography, pacing, and brand treatments, working within established brand guidelines  
• Conduct reporting to identify platform trends, algorithm priorities, emerging formats and content topics to keep content fresh, relevant and to drive organic reach. 
• Write compelling, punchy copy to be used across social media assets 
• Collaborate with internal creative teams and external partners (influencers, vets, brand ambassadors) to diversify content output  
• Schedule and publish content across social media platforms 
• Identify opportunities to share and engage with user generated content across TikTok and Instagram 
• Report on the performance of social media content  

Strategic & Account Support (approx. 20%)

• Contribute to social media strategic reviews and recommendations  
• Build and maintain strong relationships with the client team, representing Orchard's creative standards at every touchpoint  

About You

You're a natural storyteller and platform native who understands what makes people stop, watch, and share.  

You'll likely have:

• 3+ years of experience in content creation, UGC, social media, or a similar creative role 
• A strong portfolio of short-form content you've created (essential - please include with your application) 
• Deep, hands-on knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook- you don't just consume, you create 
• Proficiency in video editing tools (native TikTok and Instagram in-app editing tools such as Capcut, Edits, etc, Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent mobile-first tools). Knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma also preferred. 
• Hands-on experience with AI image and content generation platforms is a plus, combined with a proactive and self-driven approach to keeping pace with emerging AI tools, trends, and best practices within the creative industry 
• Confidence working independently and managing multiple deliverables simultaneously across a fast-paced account 
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft sharp hooks, captions, and scripts 
• A genuine passion for pets and the ability to connect authentically with pet owner audiences.  
• Prior experience working in healthcare communications is desirable but not essential.  
• Experience working within brand guidelines and adapting your creative style to suit different brand voices 

Bonus points for:

• Experience working on US market accounts or global brand campaigns 
• Background in healthcare, animal health, or consumer pet categories 
• Agency-side experience or working within a multi-stakeholder environment
