Job description

Inspect, service, and repair diesel trucks and trailers Conduct preventative maintenance and routine safety checks Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults Perform engine, brake system, suspension, and transmission repairs Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records Ensure all repairs meet safety and regulatory standards Prepare vehicles for roadworthiness tests Respond to breakdowns when required Work collaboratively with the transport and operations team Maintain a clean, safe, and well organised workshop environment
Experience Required
Minimum 7 years’ previous experience operating grab lorries Strong knowledge of Irish road transport regulations Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively High level of awareness of health and safety practices Good communication skills and a professional attitude Experience working on construction and civil engineering sites Familiarity with Kildare and surrounding counties Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience Formal qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, or equivalent Minimum 2–3 years of experience working on heavy vehicles or HGV equipment Strong diagnostic and problem solving skills Ability to read technical manuals and schematics Experience with modern diagnostic tools (advantage) Knowledge of Irish or EU safety and compliance requirements (advantage) Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and record keeping abilities
