You will work in the Purchasing team within Volvo CE, and work cross-functionally both within our company and the world. Your portfolio and commodity is spread across several sites in Europe but the main consignee is the Eskilstuna plant. This means great possibility for really taking ownership, plus development both professionally and personally.

You will have a broad network including contacts inside and outside of Volvo Group: from Technology, Operations, Volvo CE Purchasing, Volvo Group to our Preferred Suppliers.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

As Buyer you will manage the supply base for assigned commodity, Machined Gears & Shafts, for Purchasing. You will be accountable for your purchasing portfolio and the day-to-day situation work for towards several sites in Europe, plus manage relationships with suppliers for the commodity together with other Purchasing site functions.

You will represent Purchasing in different new product development projects and follow Volvo CE’s product development process. You will work taking both details and the full scope in perspective and take responsibility for finding the best solutions for all parties involved in the process.

Core Responsibilities: Early Supplier Integration (ESI) including selected suppliers for innovation Prototype, pre – series and initial sample sourcing Negotiation of development agreements, confidential contracts and ”Letter of Intents” Continuously keep track of purchased material and inform Purchasing stakeholders about the status in product development projects Perform the activities required for the assigned portfolio in line with the Sub Commodity Teams/Strategy and to optimize the total cost (Quality, Logistics, Cost and Manufacturing) Purchasing portfolio in running production and problem resolutions in daily matters
